Only two days until I leave! It's finally starting to seem real. I have all of my belongings that I'm leaving in Chicago in boxes, and tonight I'll take them downstairs to the storage closet and pack my suitcase. This will be an interesting exercise in seeing just how little I need to live for 4 months. Only a week's worth of clothes, plenty of layers, a sweatshirt, light jacket, and bathroom stuff. Plus my laptop, phone, and camera.
One thing that concerned me was books. I'm usually reading three or four books at a time, and taking a 4 month supply would be prohibitive. I'm planning to find some good used bookstores on the road (and in Boston, I'm sure). This way I can buy books for cheap, read them, and then sell them or donate them at the next shop.
Cassie is realizing that I'm leaving. She's constantly digging through the boxes in the living room and ripping labels off some.
Tonight I'm also taking the aquarium up to Janelle's so she can take care of it while I'm gone.
In an ideal world, the packing will be done tonight, and tomorrow night Janelle and I can relax and enjoy the evening.
This will be an adventure for sure, and probably really fun, too!
